Centre for European Constitutional Law

The Centre for European Constitutional Law (CECL) is a non-governmental organisation, operating as a public benefit foundation, with headquarters in Athens, Hellenic Republic (Greece).

It was founded by the late Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Dimitris Th. Tsatsos in 1995 with the aim to support democratic institutions in Greece and the broader European area; promote the application of fundamental rights, the rule of law and the welfare state; deepen European integration; and strengthen international cooperation with respect to the cultural identity of each state.

More specifically, CECL

1. provides institutional know-how and capacity-building to public bodies in Greece, European Union (EU) Member States and third countries, including candidate and potential candidate countries,

2. conducts theoretical and applied research in the fields of Greek, European and comparative law, fundamental rights, public institutions and public policies,

3. provides training and capacity building to actors engaged in activities related to its areas of expertise, in particular to justice professionals (judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and others), Non-governmental/Civil Society Organisations (NGOs/CSOs), law enforcement and others, and

4. promotes public dialogue and awareness on democracy and European integration.

CECL focuses on three broad thematic areas: Constitutional institutions and good governance (fundamental rights, modernisation of public administration and local government, justice, regulatory reform, combating corruption and organised crime); international and European institutions and policies (deepening European integration, competition and internal market, justice and home affairs, equality and non-discrimination, immigration, environment and sustainable development); and the welfare state, social and educational policy (employment and social security, combating social exclusion and promoting social inclusion, social welfare, health policy, education and vocational training).

Born in memory of Carolina Picchio, the first official victim of cyberbullying in Italy, the foundation supports Dad Picchio in his public commitment to raising awareness about the importance of the correct, positive, and conscious use of new technologies by minors. Fondazione Carolina and its professionals have already become a point of reference for Institutions, families, and stakeholders in the prevention and care of the increasingly dangerous risks of the digital experience. Every year Fondazione works in Italian schools, informing and supporting thousands of students, their teachers, and their families. In 2022 has released www.minorionline.com an updated guide aimed to protect kids online.

The University of Ljubljana

The Centre for Social Informatics (CSI), established in 2011 within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana, currently includes 26 researchers. The research fields consist of web survey methodology and the use of digital technology in social science data collection in general, the safe use of the Internet, digital inequality, eHealth and eCare.

Researchers at CSI are one of the world’s leading groups in the area of the web survey methodology. They have published numerous scientific articles and developed a tool for creating and managing web surveys: EnKlikAnketa.
Cyber Security International Institute

Cyber Security International Institute (CSIi) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, established in 2017, by the Police Lieutenant General, Mr. Emmanouil Sfakianakis, who is specialized in Cybercrime Investigation and Analysis and has served as the Founder and Head of the Cyber Crime Unit of the Hellenic Police.

With the Institute’s main aim being raising awareness regarding issues related to new technologies and the cyberspace, computer systems security and Internet-based infrastructures, safe web-browsing, as well as best practices for online applications and computer programs, CSIi functions as an educational hub for Greek citizens of all ages. 

ActionAid Hellas

ActionAid is an independent international civil society organisation, fighting poverty and injustice all over the world. Since 1972, ActionAid educates people and supports communities to have a dignified life, striving for a fairer world for all. In Greece, ActionAid runs the Child Sponsorship programme since 1998. The organisation launched educational programmes in 2000 and from 2014 it also supports vulnerable people who live in Greece.

CODECA – Center for Social Cohesion Development and Care

CODECA – Center for Social Cohesion, Development and Care, is a non-profit organisation established and operating in Cyprus since 2016. The organisation aims, through the provision of specialised services, to reduce social inequalities, develop conditions for equal opportunities, and assist the integration of vulnerable and socially excluded groups into society.

CODECA is the sole Management and Service Provider at the First Reception Centre (Pournara) and Reception & Accommodation Centres (Kofinou & Limnes) in Cyprus. The Organisation has also designed and is a currently implementing an innovative intervention which offers semi-independent housing solutions to a large number of Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children as well as migrant families and vulnerable and socially excluded groups of the local society (families and single mothers with children). Services provided include but are not limited to psycho-social support, legal and social counselling, educational activities, and training.

CODECA’s team believes in meeting the Organisation’s targets and aims by designing and implementing innovative ideas & solutions, especially with the use of digital tools and technologies. CODECA has established, an on-going collaboration with leading Universities in Cyprus and abroad, NGO’s and research organisations, Municipalities, grass-root organisations, and public and private institutions, for the development and implementation of innovative research activities, training workshops, and education and training materials to staff and partner organisations alike, through the CODECA Learning HUB.
